A Quarter Of - the traditional sweetshop on the Internet. A Quarter Of have over 500 old favourites - from space dust to cherry lips, sweet tobacco to anglo bubbly bubblegum, candy necklaces to blackjacks... And A Quarter Of... are adding more all the time! A Quarter Of have been featured on BBC (Good Food Live, Working Lunch), ITV (This Morning), SKY News, Radio 5, The Sun, The Mirror, Daily Telegraph, The Times, The Guardian, The Mail etc etc! More About A Quarter Of A Quarter Of came up with the idea for a fun, old fashioned sweetshop after a conversation in a pub! A Quarter Of trundled off down memory lane, remembering all the sweets that they used to buy from the little sweetshop at the end of our road (on the way to school - most convenient!!). It was called "The Chocolate Box". A Quarter Of were certain that the idea would not get any further because they couldn't possibly still make the sweets that they remembered with such fond memories... A Quarter Of mean if the did still make then surely they would have seen them around... and they hadn't... But in most cases they did (and do) still make them!! So the idea was born. And the reactions of friends and family when they told them of the idea and their eyes glazed over as they started listing all the sweets that they just had to have in the shop (the list often went on and on - they struggled to keep up as they wrote the names down!) made A Quarter Of think that it would be a website that people would like... Then A Quarter Of needed a look for the site... and thats where the comic that they used to read when they were young came in - Whizzer and Chips (now sadly defunct) - A Quarter Of wanted an online sweetshop that looked like the comic. And thats where A Quarter Of struck gold because we found a superstar cartoonist to draw the cartoons for A Quarter Of - to give it the perfect feel. His name is Colin Whittock and he is an absolute marvel. One of the best bits of working at A Quarter Of, apart from the sweet tasting of course (which A Quarter Of do over and over!!), is when Colin sends A Quarter Of new drawings - they are just fab and always bring a smile... A Quarter Of - The Best Makes Even more important than just finding the types of sweets, A Quarter Of have hunted to find the sweets that taste just like they remember them. Only Barratts Candy Shrimps taste like the pink chewy crustaceons that they loved so much - so these are the only shrimps that A Quarter Of sell; there is no Sherbet Lemon as good as the ones that Pascalls make (unwrapped, dimpled outside, rich lemon taste and a burst of fizzy sherbet in the middle) so they are the only ones that A Quarter Of stock; Jelly Babies must be Bassetts (Liquorice Allsorts too), Milk Gums must be Maynards..... A Quarter Of Test and Test... to Find the Best! And A Quarter Of test dozens of other sweets to find the best tastes that they can. A Quarter Of's fizzy cola bottles are the fizziest and sourest that A Quarter Of can find, their double cherries are the softest and most succulent, their pint pots are the juiciest... A Quarter Of want to get your nostalgia buds going...
