HLX won the Gold Medal at the Best of European Design And Advertising Awards 2004, in the integrated campaigns category. The entire integrated campaign was evaluated - from ads on tram networks to classic sales promotions.

That's what the 'Travel and Prices' publication (volume 3/2004) found in a comprehensive test. The 11 most important low cost airlines that fly from Germany, Austria and Switzerland were tested. Stern Survey of Trend Profiles, Travel Trends 2003
Hapag-Lloyd Express made its mark within a very short period of time: In October 2003 HLX celebrated their first anniversary, but already HLX were the best known low-cost airline in Germany, according to the Stern survey "Travel Trends 2003", during which 2,000 people were interviewed.

HLX Fleet and flight crews

As of summer 2005 HLX will be operating with 15 aircraft: five Boeing 737-500s, eight Boeing 737-700s and two Fokker 100s. They are operated on behalf of Hapag-Lloyd Express by the two renowned airlines Germania and Hapag-Lloyd Flight. These two companies also provide HLX with pilots and flight attendants. They are experienced, highly motivated and of course trained to international standards. They also undergo regular training and continuing professional development and therefore fulfil all requirements of compulsory, regular checks.
