Below is a brief history of the company and how Mail Order Express has become a successful family business as proven by four 'Toy Shop of the Year' awards from the British Association of Toy Retailers, along with many other merits.

Mail Order Express - Company Milestones

1946: Frederick Arthur Watts, with his wife Hilda, started the business in Sherrard Street, Melton Mowbray, trading as F A Watts.
1st January 1974: Dennis Watts, son of Frederick, and his wife Judy, took over control when Frederick and Hilda retired.
1st May 1978: Alan Arbon, son of J F Arbon, retired and sold his Toy Business, J F Arbon & Son to Dennis and Judy Watts. Their business had developed along similar lines to F A Watts business at Melton and was started at a similar time. The business started in Watergate, Grantham, and later moved to 96/97 Westgate, Grantham, where it is today. A new company was then formed, Arbon And Watts Limited, retaining the familiar names that customers knew on both Melton and Grantham. Today, older inhabitants in Grantham call the Toy Shop ''Arbon's'', in Melton it's ''Watt's''. Whilst to new inhabitants in both towns, its Arbon And Watts.
1988: Paul Watts, son of Dennis and Judy, joined the company and has held various positions playing a major part in developing the business to the success it is today. Paul is the third generation of the Watts family to join this family business, and holds a top position in the management team.
1990: MAIL ORDER EXPRESS, the mail order division of Arbon And Watts Limited, commenced operation.
1991: The Melton store was developed from 2,700 to an impressive 5,700 square feet. This was a major improvement that allowed customers easier access to see the range of over 15,000 products. It also allowed for display of modern large toys, which had been impossible before.
1991/1992: For the first time, Arbon And Watts Limited was awarded Toy Shop of the Year by the British Association of Toy Retailers (BATR).
1993/1994: For the second time, Arbon And Watts Limited was awarded Toy Shop of the Year by the BATR.
1994/1995: For the third time, Arbon And Watts Limited was awarded Toy Shop of the Year by the BATR.
1995: Arbon And Watts Limited won the top National award Electronic Learning Aid Retailer of the Year 1995. This prestigious accolade was open to all UK retailers, large and small.
1997/1998: For the fourth time Arbon And Watts Limited was awarded Toy Shop of the Year award by the BATR. It is very rare for a business to win this award four times.
1998/1999: For the eighth time Arbon And Watts was nominated for the award Toy Shop of the Year by the BATR.
1999: Mail Order Express e-commerce web site was born.
2000: For the ninth time Arbon And Watts was nominated for the award Toy Shop of the Year by the BATR.
2002: New premises in Grantham opened to handle the increasing volume of E-commerce sales to customers all over the world.
2003: Mail Order Express.com E-commerce web site grows fast with delighted customers from all over the UK and world.
2003/2004: Arbon And Watts was awarded Toy Shop of the Year by the BATR for the Midlands region.
